Mónica Taher

 

Born in San Salvador, Taher is the Former Technological & Business Innovation Director at Invest SV at the Government of El Salvador. She onboarded a great number of companies that migrated to her country after the Bitcoin Law adoption. Taher currently serves as a shareholder and Vicepresident of Marketing for RocketFuel, a global crypto/ACH payment solution company.

 

In 2022, Bloomberg chose her as one of the most influential people in business in Latin America. She’s a former CNN en Español tech commentator. She is also a technology advisor and influencer where she empowers women to adopt technology as a way to minimize the gender pay gap. Taher is also the founder of Business Taps, a tech and investing consulting agency with offices in the U.S. and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

She has worked in several business roles with Fortune 500 companies including IBM, Televisa (Mexico), Globo (Brazil), Grupo Digicel, Getty Images Latin America and a few governments in Latin America. She’s presented at various international conferences including the Interamerican Development Bank’s Fintech conference and with the U.S. State Department, via its Latin American embassies and at academic institutions including the Tec de Monterrey, UNAM in Mexico City and others.

Mónica has a B.A. and a Master’s in Cinema and Media Studies from UCLA and is currently getting ready to write her doctoral thesis at the University of Seville. She speaks Spanish, English & Portuguese fluently and is an active member of the American Jewish Committee. For her work and contributions on behalf of the Latino community in the United States, she’s been recognized with a proclamation by: California Governor Gavin Newsom, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Los Angeles Former Mayor Antonio Villarraigosa and several U.S. Senators including Jackie Goldberg and Sheila Kuehl.
